I live near Tuggerah Lake and it's one of of my favorite places to go and photograph. Sunsets over the water from a few locations have been rewarding and early indications where that the skies above the lake would produce a worthwhile photo or two
With the trusty Nikon D750 and 24 - 85 lens in one hand and the tripod in the other I set off and set up on the shore of the lake facing two small islands and waited for the magic in the sky to materialise.
There was an orange glow in the sky but really not enough high clouds to produce what i was after tonight but I did manage to get a couple keepers to take home and do a little post production work on.
With the tripod collapsed and under my arm I started the walk back to the car and noticed a few flowering Australian native plants and thought I would have to return in the daylight and capture a few of these fine specimens. Then the thought of using flash to get the images.
The Nikon handled the darkness well and with ISO at 3200 produced clear images that have been added to my collection.
